Jessiah was already a high ranking officer in Jugend when Ramsus and the rest of the gang were still undergraduates in the military school. How the four became friends was not revealed in the game, perhaps they got to know each other when undergoing missions commanded by Jessiah. Jessiah had a fondness for liquor and could easily outdrink everyone (he made Sigurd drunk when they met up again). He was the Earth Element in charge of the Solarian army and he was in line for the position of Commander of Gebler. A promotion that was contested hotly by his rival, Stein. Of course, the position went to Ramsus as we know it. Jessiah probably refused this position, understanding the true motives behind it. Unlike the other Ex-Elements, Jessiah's past remains much of a mystery. It is highly likely that he was born on the surface since his sympathy was with the Lambs.
He was married to a woman named Raquel while in Solaris and one of the major reasons he took her to the surface was because Stein desired his wife but Raquel chose Jessiah instead. They made their home in the Aquavy Islands and reared their children together. Jessiah however suddenly left his family without revealing anything of his destination even to his wife. During the years he was gone, a lot happened to his family. Raquel was killed during an attack by Wels but this was a plot staged by Stein to get back at Jessiah for "stealing" the woman he wanted. Stein changed his name to Bishop Stone and became the head of the Ethos church on the surface. Billy and Primera were rescued by Bishop Stone during the attack and the death of his mother alienated Billy even further from his absent father. It was under Stone's influence that Billy became an Etone. Jessiah came back and because of the stranded relationship between father and son, he had problems getting through to Billy. I believed that Jessiah found out about the farce that was the Ethos religion when he was probably back in Solaris. It was not until the massacre at the Ethos headquarters when Stone revealed the truth about the Ethos, Wels and the death of Jessiah's wife. It was Stone's hand that ended Raquel's life. During the fight with Stone, Jessiah convinced Billy to use him as a "living" bullet. He was thought to be dead after the fight but he miracously survived. Primera finally broke her silence and uttered her first word "father" when she saw that Jessiah was alive. Billy forgave him and accepted him as a father. |
