(Please do NOT steal this pic! It's one of the few rare pics I have!! ^^) Elly is one of the first people you meet in the game, but she doesn't join until much later -- but just as she made an impression on Fei, so Fei made an impression on her. Although she did not recognize her feelings as true love -- she felt she was just trying to run away -- she eventually figured it out. Her first real show of love took place just after leaving Solaris. Fei, as Ido, attacked the ship, and she put her life on the line by going out there and confronting him. Their Ether essence clashed and probably hurt her badly, but she managed to bring Fei back. That was all that mattered to her -- the part of her that was Sophia was showing through, I suppose you could say. Later on the second disc, she once again proves that she is Sophia -- by once again sacrificing her freedom to save her friends. She gives herself up to Krelian after an amazing battle, saving Fei and the others. From there she is taken to the structure known as Merkava. When Fei and the others find her there, Krelian is kind enough to describe his plans to revive Deus -- and in order to complete those plans, he is going to 'sacrifice' Elly. (And he loves her?!) She hangs on a crucifix before Deus's cocoon, garbed in Miang's uniform and apparently asleep. After a scene in which Ramsus 'kills' Miang and Krelian, Fei and Billy release Elly from her binds. Almost as soon as Elly is released, a shot rings out, and Fei flies back. (Yes, that's right -- she shot him. ^^) Right before everyone's eyes, Elly's hair morphs
