Margie is Nisan's Holy Mother. (Before you ask, I have no idea if she is a descendant of Sophia or not -- you'll have to ask Squaresoft!) She's extremely young to hold the position, and a bit immature. But aside from that, she is also -- according to tradition -- supposed to marry Bart when she's old enough. Neither of them will admit it, but the do feel more than friendship toward each other, and it looks like they'll make the perfect couple! (^_~) You first meet Maru when you rescue her from Fatima Palace in Aveh, where she was being held by Shakhan. She supposedly knew where half of the Fatima Jasper was (needed to unlock a 'great treasure'), but later it turns out that instead of being a jewel of some sort, the Jasper is really the retinal pattern of the family line. With Maru's help Bart manages to unlock the family treasure and reclaim his kingdom. As you can see, Maru is mainly a supporting character. She does participate in a battle with Bart upon her rescue (healing support), but otherwise she cannot be used as a party member. She remains on the Yggdrasil, and usually you talk to her to change party members. She also takes care of the children on the ship, and Chu-Chu.
