Sigurd's past comes in a close second behind Ramsus and Shitan for being "mysterious". Although he was originally a surface-dwelling Lamb, he was kidnapped and taken to Solaris for testing sometime after Shakhan's coup in Aveh. After being used as an experimental subject for drugs such as Drive his latent potential was discovered, and they brainwashed him and sent him to Jugend for training. After he graduated he became a member of the premier Element group -- Hyuuga (Shitan), Ramsus, and Jessiah (Jesse) became his friends at that time, and he threw his support in behind Ramsus' cause. I can only assume that, not long after this -- maybe a year or two -- he broke through Solaris' brainwashing and got fed up with their systems. He has a sort of empathic ability that allows him to sense the mood or feelings of people and places, so perhaps that, and the simple fact of what Solaris was doing, forced him to escape and head back to Aveh. As he said to Shitan, "I had somebody important to return to." After a short time working as a smuggler with Shitan, he returned to the surface. Once he was able to find Bart, he immediately joined and set about helping the young man regain his kingdom. He and Maison are Bart's two strongest supporters, and Sigurd's loyalty to him is unwavering. Throughout the game, he is the First Mate of the Yggdrasil. (Everything below is speculation or my opinion) Sigurd is..... heh, I won't go there. But if you've read any of the official background material on him...... Aside from the yaoi stuff, you might find some surprising things about good old Sig...... like his reputation as a 'bad boy'. ^_~ If anybody would be kind enough to lend me their copy of "Liquid Sky" (assuming there are any Japanese fans reading this), I would be eternally grateful!
